I think that Holden Caufield in “Catcher in the Rye,” said it best, “Buddy Singer and his stinking band was playing "Just One of Those Things" and even they couldn't ruin it entirely. It's a swell song.” I can only hope that Holden would have approved of my version of the tune:

This video is a “Behind the Scenes” look at the making of my CD “So In Love, Perry Beekman Sings and Plays Cole Porter.”  The idea for the project came from a series of annual concerts I’ve been giving at the Maverick Theater in Woodstock. The Maverick is America’s oldest continuous summer chamber music festival, and is host to some of the finest international touring artists in both the classical and jazz worlds. Our Cole Porter concert was a wonderful success, and reflected months of arranging and rehearsal. After the concert, it occurred to me that the program would translate well in to a recording project, and so my first CD was born!

Here's a live performance video of "Thou Swell" by the great Rodgers and Hart. It was recorded at our recent gig at the Metropolitan Room in NYC! If you're interested, feel free to check out these other videos from the show: It's De-Lovely, I Love Paris, and I Love Being Here With You
